JOB DUTIES
- Operate and monitor automated sawmill equipment from control panels, control room consoles, and other control devices in order to process logs into rough timber, then saw, split, cut, and perform initial planing to produce squared timber of various dimensions.
- Operate automated equipment to move logs through laser scanners that determine the most productive and cost-effective cutting patterns.
- Start and operate the saw feed mechanism and conveyors.
- Adjust sawing equipment and replace saw blades or band saws using keys, gauges, and other hand tools.
- Operate machinery used for storage or drying facilities and transport timber to the planing workshop.
- Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Be registered with ANAPEC and currently looking for employment.
- Hold a high school diploma (Baccalaureate) – mandatory.
- Hold a vocational training diploma in Industrial Automation or Electromechanics of Automated Systems – preferred.
- Have at least one year of proven work experience in an industrial environment.
- Have a good level of French.
