As part of the development of employability for international job seekers, ANAPEC, with the support of the GIZ THAMM Plus program, is launching a call for applications to support the search for an apprenticeship position in the field of bakery and bakery sales in Germany in cooperation with the North German Bakery Association.

The training, lasting 3 years, will begin in September 2026. It combines a theoretical part provided at a vocational school and a practical part in a company. Apprentices will spend one to two days per week at school or in block periods to acquire theoretical knowledge complementary to practical work in the company. The training is paid in accordance with German regulations in force. Support from the host company for accommodation search and provision of housing is also provided in accordance with current regulations.
Selected candidates will benefit free of charge and according to their needs identified during the selection process, from reinforcements and support provided under the GIZ THAMM PLUS program:
- German language courses at B1 level, with coverage of B1 exam fees;
- Soft skills training;
- Cultural and professional pre-integration support;
- Coaching, placement support, application file preparation.
- Advice and assistance with administrative procedures.
The THAMM Plus program is seeking apprenticeship candidates in the following professions:
Baker Profession in Germany:
As a baker, you are responsible for making doughs and preparations for various bakery products such as bread, cakes, pastries and other specialties. This includes measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes; kneading and preparing doughs, monitoring the fermentation process and baking.
During your training, you will learn recipes for making breads, cakes and pastries.
As a baker, you will also learn the preparation of desserts, icings, light creams, savory and sweet fillings, as well as the application of decorations and finishes on cakes and tarts.

Bakery Sales Profession:
During your training, you will learn how a bakery is organized. You will be able to plan and prepare work processes, including for special occasions (wedding cake, catering service for a company anniversary or special promotion…)
Garnishing and decorating bread and rolls will be part of your daily tasks. If you work in a bakery with an adjoining café or if your company offers hot dishes, you will also be responsible for preparing them, presenting them appetizingly and serving them.
As a bakery salesperson, you are responsible for welcoming customers in the bakery and you must ensure that they find exactly the products they want. Decorating windows and stores is also part of your duties.

Fachverkäufer/in – Lebensmittelhandwerk (Bäckerei) – BERUFENET | Bundesagentur für Arbeit
Required Profile:
- Be registered with ANAPEC and unemployed
- Must have a Baccalaureate or Baccalaureate level (a scientific Bac is a plus);
- For the baker profession:
Have at least 6 months of professional experience in the profession (employment or internship),
Or
Have completed training in Bakery, Pastry, Viennoiserie, Chocolate making, - For the bakery salesperson profession:
Have at least 6 months of professional experience (employment or internship) in sales/commerce/consulting in the bakery/pastry sector;
Or
Have completed professional training in Bakery or Pastry or Viennoiserie or Chocolate making. - Be between 18 and 25 years old as of 15/10/2025;
- Have at minimum A2 level in German;
- Be motivated to work in the bakery sector;
- Show good willingness to fully integrate into German company work processes and regulations;
- Be aware of the profession’s constraints (irregular hours, night work).
- Show flexibility, frankness, and open-mindedness;

- Copy of National Identity Card or passport
- Detailed CV completed in German;
- Detailed CV completed in French;
- Copy of baccalaureate or certificate of Bac level;
- Copies of training and/or experience certificates (Employment or internship)
- Proof of A2 level in German (an evaluation will be carried out during the selection process)
Selection and preparation:
Selected candidates must be available for full-time linguistic and cultural preparation starting from January 2026.
