Truck Driver Responsibilities:
The truck driver will undertake a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of goods. Primary responsibilities include:
- Driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
- Loading and unloading goods, securing them properly.
- Handling customer complaints or concerns and providing professional customer service.
- Obtaining special permits and other documentation necessary for transporting goods on international roads.
- Overseeing vehicle condition and inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
- Receiving and relaying information to the central dispatch department.
- Recording shipment information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Transporting and handling hazardous goods.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: High school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Languages: Proficiency in English.
- Certificates and Licenses: Class AZ driver’s license.
Documentation Knowledge:
Candidates must have knowledge of various types of documentation, including accident reports, bills of lading, vehicle inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, and cross-border documentation.
Additional Information:
Security and Safety: Driver’s license verification, driving record check, and passing a drug test are required.
Transportation and Travel Information: The candidate must be able to drive a vehicle with manual transmission and be willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and internationally, with the understanding that travel expenses are covered by the employer.
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The job requires attention to detail, the ability to handle heavy loads, sitting for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.
